Why am I a physical
therapist?
I am a physical therapist
because I enjoy helping
others. Throughout my
years I have been active in
sports, and with sports come injuries. Injuries can affect
you, both physically and emotionally, limiting you on
your level of performance with recreation, occupation
and in simple everyday activities. I have experienced
these injuries and appreciate the need to get back to your
prior level of function as quickly as possible. During
school, I took an interest in the sciences and mathematics
and I have always enjoyed a challenge. Physical therapy
gives me the opportunity to apply what I have learned
about biomechanics and human anatomy to reach each of
my patients' individual goals.
Continuing education commitment:
I love to learn and am always striving to improve myself
as a healthcare provider. In healthcare, advances in
treatment techniques and improvements in quality of
care are constantly being made. It is important to stay on
top of these changes in order to provide the best care
possible to your patients. I have taken a variety of
classes ranging from learning manual therapy techniques,
stabilization programs, how to evaluate and fit for
orthotics, and being certified in a Pilates mat course.

Professional and community activities:
I am a member of the APTA Orthopedic section and have
volunteered with Special Olympics.
Personal interests:
I spend a lot of my time skiing and mountain biking, but
also enjoy ultimate Frisbee, working out at the gym,
volleyball, kayaking and fly-fishing. When not playing
sports, I like to read and travel.
What patients have said:
-"I have seen many physical therapists over the years,
and you have definitely performed a more thorough
exam and then taken the time to explain your findings
to me."
-"Thank you for your professionalism, for your humor,
and for caring."
