Why am I a physical
therapist?
I was inspired toward a profession in physical therapy by
a youth soccer coach and PT who mentored me through high school.
I can honestly say there is not a more interesting profession
to study and practice every day.
Getting to know each of my patients
and customizing an individualized program is paramount to achieving successful
outcomes. I enjoy providing athletes and non-athletes with the tools they need
to be proactive in their goals towards self reliance and to return to full
function.
Continuing education commitment:
My post-professional education has included manual therapy, biomechanics, sports
rehabilitation and exercise training.
My research investigates the relationship between hip strength
and patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) of the knee in females.
I have focused my recent continuing education in advanced
orthopedic manual physical therapy training. My training includes
general orthopedics, post-surgical rehab, bike fitting, exercise
physiology and energy expenditure.
Professional and community activities:
I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association
(APTA) and the orthopedic and Sports therapy sections. My
clinical practice background is in outpatient orthopedics
rehabilitating patients from non-athletes to professional
athletes.
I enjoy educating physicians and other healthcare providers on
musculoskeletal assessment techniques and treatment options. I have also worked
as a consultant for Boeing to develop and implement the “industrial athlete
injury prevention program” for mechanics and engineers.

Personal interests:
I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife, Sarah, and my black lab, Fisher.
You can find me mogul skiing, fly fishing, biking or camping.
What patients have said:

professionalism and perhaps most importantly ~ his humor. In the time that I
got to know Ryan, I observed his vigorous pursuit of excellence in his field and
I feel fortunate to have benefited from it.”
-“My customized exercises from Ryan hit the direct source of my pain and I am
very happy to be feeling the results.”
-“For the first time in ages I experienced a true understanding of the source
