Why am I a physical
therapist?
I feel truly blessed to love
what I do. Physical therapy
is a career that continues to
change and grow. The
professional and personal growth that I have experienced
over the years have kept me motivated and excited about
being a physical therapist. My intention is to help
empower patients to learn about themselves. I also learn
from each patient because each person is unique and
different. Healing involves education, hands-on,
compassion and teamwork!
Continuing education commitment:
Since physical therapy does grow and change, it is
important to be committed to continuing education. The
courses I enjoy are the courses that integrate manual
therapy and movement. My strong interest in movement
is what attracted me to initially work with stroke patients
and led to getting a certification in the neurodevelopmental
technique. As I began treating orthopedic and
sports medicine patients, I continued to see abnormal
movement patterns which motivated me to further study
movement and seek certification in the Feldenkrais
method. This took a major commitment of four years of
training. Also, since the birth of my first daughter, I
became very interested in women's health, and a lot of
my continuing education courses have centered around
women's issues.

Professional and community activities:
I enjoy giving lectures to the community. From bridge
groups to PT conferences, it is important to to share
knowledge and information. I also teach Awareness
through Movement lessons regularly, which I love to do!
Personal interests:
Outside the clinic I enjoy hiking and camping with my
family, rock climbing and volleyball.
What patients have said:
-"Terri has an approach that makes me feel immediately at
ease, and she treats the "whole person" not just the parts."
-"Thanks for making it a priority that I understand the
nature of my injury and how to prevent it from
happening again!"
