Why am I a physical
therapist?
I truly enjoy what I do and
love working in a field that
offers so much to each
individual. It is a wonderful
experience to improve someone’s quality of living.
Educating patients is very rewarding, because it teaches
individuals about their specific problems and how their
role in the rehabilitation process is just as, if not more,
important than that of the therapist. It is a great feeling
to be able to empower patients. This education goes
beyond patients to the general public and professionals.
Unique skills and emphasis:
My emphasis is on manual therapy, and through this
training and many years of experience I believe I can
relate to patients and make them feel comfortable in a
sometimes uncomfortable or scary situation. I am very
dynamic, and can push patients to new levels and remain
somewhat unassuming.
Continuing education commitment:
I believe keeping continuing education updated is
important for increasing my knowledge base, and to treat
patients with the most updated and wide ranging
techniques. I have taken a considerable amount of
continuing education, focusing on manual therapy. This
allows me to look at the person as a whole, and treat all
dysfunctions that may be contributing to the original
problem. My education, along with significant patient
education, is a very positive combination for the
rehabilitation process.

Professional and community activities:
I have been a member of the APTA since 1988 and its
orthopedic section. I lecture to the public, teach Back
School and write articles in our newsletter to increase
awareness, and make the public more proactive. I volunteer
for the 9News Health Fair. Our team is involved with
Regis University in a long-term outcome study.
Personal interests:
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband
and two boys. We all enjoy the outdoors, especially
skiing, hiking and biking.
What patients have said:
-"I can’t believe what a difference you have made
in my life!"
-"I have learned so many things that I have been doing
wrong for all these years, and now it feels good to play
sports again. I didn’t know you don’t have to hurt
when you play."
