| Why
am I a physical therapist?
My interest in Physical Therapy first began in undergraduate
school when I sustained an injury, which required surgery
and rehabilitation. I was very impressed with the therapist’s
compassion and motivation to help me recover from an injury
that was both physically and emotionally challenging. Using
my own experience, I strive at helping clients to improve
their level of performance whether it is athletic, recreational
or occupational.
Continuing education commitment:
Physical Therapy is a profession based upon research that helps me to better
treat my patients. It is crucial to stay informed of the latest
findings and that is why I am continuously reading journals
and striving to be a lifelong student. I have taken a variety
of continuing education classes such as Mulligan Manual Therapy
and Muscle Energy courses. Through taking such courses, I
am able to improve myself as a healthcare provider by practicing
evident based medicine.
Professional and community activities:
My postgraduate career has primarily involved outpatient sports orthopedics.
I have a strong desire to complete a sports certification
and to develop sports specific programs for young athletes
to help improve their level of performance.

Outside of Physical Therapy, I enjoy spending time with my family, including
activities such as hiking, mountain biking and strength training.

my needs, and now I can enjoy the things that I love to do”

at the same time”
