Why am I a physical
therapist?
Ever since I was young I had
a passion for helping people.
As a result, physical therapy
became the perfect field for
me. As a physical therapist, I am fulfilled when I can be
involved in educating patients and helping them return to
function. I am also a physical therapist because I enjoy a
team approach that involves the commitment and
dedication of both the therapist and the patient.
Continuing education commitment:
Because science is always changing and advancing, it is
very important for therapists to keep abreast of the latest
information. Continuing education is vital to me to keep
current on the latest research in order to be an effective
and efficient therapist. I enjoy taking classes and
reading the most recent journal articles, especially those
pertaining to manual therapy. I have a particular interest
in classes presented by the International Academy of
Orthopedic Medicine because of their dedication to
evidence based practice.
Professional and community activities:
I have been a member of the APTA and its orthopedic
section since becoming a student at Regis University. I
was elected to the Alpha Sigma Nu fraternity as a result
of my dedication to service learning and my educational
achievements. I have worked with child abuse victims at
St. Vincent Home, visited with seniors at the Argyle
Assisted Living Facility, and spoken about osteoporosis
at the 9News Health Fair. I believe that service learning
is a major component of being a physical therapist.

Personal interests:
In the summers I spend time with my husband and our
two dogs, camping and rollerblading, as well as, golfing
and weightlifting. In the winters I enjoy skiing,
traveling, and watching college and professional football
- especially the Tennessee Titans!
What patients have said:
-"Thank you for taking the time to educate me about my
injury and how to get back to feeling 100% again."
-"I have had problems with dizziness since I can
remember and after physical therapy I am back to
enjoying the things I have not been able to do for
so long."
