Carlton LaursenCarlton
"I love physical therapy as my profession..."

Education Background
Master of Science in Physical Therapy with distinction Boston University, 1989
Bachelor of Science, Phi Beta Kappa Washington State University, 1974

Why am I a Physical Therapist?
I love physical therapy as my profession because I enjoy the intellectual and analytical challenge of determining the root cause of a problem; the satisfaction of utilizing my own skills as well as educating the patient; and the positive feedback of seeing function improve in new friends.

Continuing Education Commitment
It is important to stay abreast of current research and treatment techniques to maximize both the cost and effectiveness of treatment.
My manual therapy training helped me to gain greater depth in spinal dysfunction and treatment; extensive lower extremity biomechanics courses have helped to address the base for all of our activities; and a variety of courses have helped to expand on complete postural integration.

Professional and community activities:
I am an APTA Orthopedic and Sport Section member since 1987, and advisory board member for the Regis University PT program, and 9HealthFair postural screen volunteer.

Personal interests:

In my spare time I enjoy tennis, biking, hiking and skiing.

What patients have said:

-"I have had physical therapy at other locations for the same injury, and feel that Carlton was more able to zero in on my needs quickly, and to my satisfaction."

-"Your humor helped me to get through the tough times, your skillful hands brought healing to my injury, and your kindness gave me comfort."
